Sports Event Jozef Psotka Memorial - 36th year

The memorial is dedicated to the memory of Slovak climbers - the victims of Mount Everest. Jozef Psotka, together with Ang Rita and Zola Demján, climbed the top of Mount Everest on October 15, 1984, after climbing the southern pillar. Jozef Psotka died on the descent from the South Saddle.

After climbing the southwest wall of Mount Everest on the Bonington Road in the Alpine way on October 14-17, 1988, Jozef Just climbed the top of Mount Everest on October 17, 1988. Dušan Becík, Peter Božík, Jaroslav Jaško and Jozef Just died on the descent from the southern peak.
