Kniha Smrť stromu je úchvatným príbehom o fungovaní lesa, v ktorom smrť hrá hlavnú rolu. Týka sa každej živej bytosti, rovnako ľudí aj stromov. Snáď preto vnímame tému smrti veľmi osobne. Len málokto sa na ňu dokáže pozrieť s nadhľadom, z perspektívy života trvajúceho milióny rokov.
V tomto kontexte získava smrť celkom iný význam.
