150 Years Healing Power of High Tatras
Experience a unique day filled with stories and history! Come celebrate 150 years of Tatra spa origins with us in Nový Smokovec.
The Town of High Tatras and OOCR Region High Tatras invite you to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the origins of spa treatment and the story of Dr. Mikuláš Szontagh.
Program:
- 10:10 AM – Wandering through history of Nový Smokovec with a tour guide (meeting at the White Evangelical Church)
- 10:30 AM–1:30 PM – TatryART: Draw your own memory of the Tatras
- 11:00 AM, 11:45 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:15 PM – Theatrical tours: Returns with Dr. Szontagh to the origins of Tatra spas
- 2:00 PM – Tatry as Medicine: Interview with Ján Šimko about spa traditions + live performance by DUO DENNYIAH
Side program (10:30 AM–3:00 PM):
Cyclist refreshment station, refreshment stalls, wine tasting, massages, Tatra book stall, and presentation of regional products.
The historic "Trojča" electric train will also run throughout the day on the route Poprad – Smokovce – Štrbské Pleso and back.
